How customers book online

What a homeowner sees on your booking page, and what happens after they book.

Homeowners book on your booking page at /book/<your booking address>. It shows your name, logo, brand colour and tagline. To set it up, see Your booking page.

The four steps

  1. Where's the test? Street address, city, state and ZIP. The page shows the price per test and whether they pay now or after the test.
  2. How do we reach you? Their name, phone and email.
  3. Tell us about the device. How many backflow devices, and which kind. Not sure is fine: the tester checks at the stop. They can add a gate code, dogs, or where the box is.
  4. Your total. The total, a switch for the yearly plan, a promo code box, and an optional day that suits. Days outside your testing season can't be picked.

They tap Request my test. If you take cards, they go straight to payment. If not, they pay after the test.

The customer does not pick an arrival window. You give the job a day, a tester and a window on the schedule.

Prices on the booking page

The page works out the total from your price list: extra devices, the yearly plan, an early-bird price, same-week and same-day surcharges, and a promo code. Only one discount applies, and the customer gets the lower one. A customer who pays by card on the yearly plan joins Autopilot. The server prices every booking again, so the page's number is never trusted.

Promo codes

The customer types one code on the last step and taps Apply. A code that is unknown, switched off, not started or expired is refused with a message. You make codes in Settings → Company → Promo codes.

What the customer gets

  • On screen: Request received, with a reference.
  • An email, We've got your request, with a Pay button if they haven't paid.
  • When you schedule it with a tester: You're booked, with the day.
  • The day before: a reminder.
  • When the tester sets off, if they tap it: On the way.
  • After the test: their result, with the report.

If your company texts customers, the booked, reminder, on-the-way and result messages also go as texts. See Emails, texts and reminders.

What the office gets

An email, New booking — <address>, with the customer, the price, the devices and a link to schedule it. The job lands on the schedule as Requested.

Bookings from your own website

If you keep your own booking form, it can send each booking into Backflow Base through the API. See AI assistants, API keys and MCP.
